I like coming here there's plenty of weights and a good size gym. But seeing a leg work out machine down for several months and not fixed is rather unprofessional. Instead of fixing it it looks like it was removed hopefully to be fixed. Also the sauna isn't working for a few weeks now. I hope it gets up and running soon. I really enjoy that after a work out.
I wish the staff were more hands on and welcomed new patrons better. I joined because my husband goes to this location. However I wasn't even shown around, told what they offer, classes, trainers....nothing. That being said I have went in and walked the track while my son and husband work out. I am uncomfortable at gyms anyway, and do not know a lot about machines and what i would need to work on to achieve what i want to achieve. I've never asked any questions. I feel that the time to make someone feel welcomed, informed and excited to be at a location is at sign up. This location feels like a "mans gym"
Great friendly front desk personnel. Bathroom cleanliness is maintained. Although equipments need maintaining. Bolts screws loose. But much better than the other Golds gym in Murfreesboro. Keep up the good work .
The manager with ginger hair and a beard is genuinely an incompetent creep. I don’t know how he is the person who runs this gym with how he behaves, speaks, and looks. He eyes down any woman who’s not fully covered walking into the gym and while working out. He has tried to call over me and several others to try to engage with us individually, interrupting our workout for long periods of time for seemingly no reason while obviously flirting and being inappropriate. I’ve talked to several other women about this. I always feel generally disrespected and disgusted whenever I am seemingly forced to interact with him. On top of the creepiness, he can’t even do his job properly. He wears exclusively socks and sandals and always smells of pot as well as being visibly high and sometimes using his smoking device where he’s clearly visible. As well as refusing to or barely addressing when other men are harassing women in the gym. Just the other week one of the women who goes to golds that I know personally had a man try to force his way into the bathroom while she was screaming for help. Another employee had to tell the man to leave while the manager just stood there doing nothing. This is honestly despicable behavior coming from a “professional” that's supposed to ensure guests are at the very least safe. He shouldn’t be the one making people feel unsafe. I have no intention of returning to this location and will press to my friends, especially the women that they need to avoid this golds location at all costs.
Mac is the kindest worker I’ve met in all my life. Thoughtful in what you need and I see him doing a lot away from the front as well, even with the boot he has right now. Amazing service and quality. 10/10 would recommend to anyone to come to smyrna’s gold gym, really just to be greeted by him and for the great environment as well.
